Colorado Center for Astrodynamics Research

Jason-2/OSTM data was obtained from the Physical Oceanography Distributed Archive Center (PO.DAAC) at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, CA. Cryosat-2 data was obtained from the Radar Altimeter Database System (RADS) maintained by the Delft Institute for Earth-Oriented Space research (DEOS). Welcome to the CCAR Gulf of Mexico Near-Realtime Gridded SSH Data Viewer

This pages hosts our Realtime Sea Surface Height Anomaly (SSHA) gridded data product. You can use this page to view our mesoscale SSHA data. You may also overlay SSH contours on GOES Sea Surface Temperature (SST), GHR SST, MODIS SST, or MODIS Ocean Chlorophyll Concentration (CHL) data. Note that the GHR SST has a four day lag.

The realtime product is currently a mergeded solution of Jason-2/OSTM and Cryosat-2 data products. Data is processed daily and generally includes the last 10 days of Jason-2 data with the last 17 days of Cryosat-2 data when sampling is available.

For more information on the SSH satellite data availability, please see our CCAR SSH Availability page.
